The 30th issue of Turkey’s famous “Güfte Edebiyat” magazine is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of People’s Poet Sabir Rustamkhanli.

“Elchi” reports that the magazine, which focuses entirely on the poet of independence and the nation, begins with an extensive interview with Sabir Rustamkhanli by the magazine’s Azerbaijani representative, well-known poet Aysel Xanlarqızı.

In the interview, emphasizing his 80-year life with the thought, “I have tried to be at the center or at the forefront of the national forces that direct history within the events,” Rustamkhanli expresses his ideal regarding the Turkic world with the words, “A nation cannot be separated by drawing borders.”

In the conversation between the magazine’s Anatolian contributor Aleyna Malkoç and the Azerbaijani People’s Poet, interesting points about Nazim Hikmet were included:

“His first book was published in Baku. He was very attached to Azerbaijan. They loved him very much in Baku. ‘Is Nazim Hikmet a communist? Why did he flee from Turkey?’ – no one thought about these questions. We were in love with his poetic language and the Turkish love within his poetry.”

Member of Parliament Tanzila Rustamkhanli includes serious points in her article titled “Our Debt of Loyalty to Poets” about Sabir Rustamkhanli, who brought the people to the Square with his words and books during the years of the National Liberation struggle and became a symbol of the national struggle at the forefront of that Square. The second article in the magazine, titled “Azerbaijan’s Flag of Words: Sabir Rustamkhanli,” belongs to Imdat Avshar, who has made significant contributions to the Turkic world. Sabir Rustamkhanli’s work is analyzed in the articles “Artistic Features of Sabir Rustamkhanli’s Poetry” by Doctor of Philological Sciences Salida Sharifova and “A Personality Who Left an Indelible Mark on Azerbaijani Literature and the History of Social Thought” by Prof. Dr. Rasmiyya Sabir.

Turkish poet Doganay Daglar’s “Social Responsibility and Sabir Rustamkhanli’s Duty of National Memory,” and the article titled “Guardian of the Word and National Spirit – Sabir Rustamkhanli” by poet and the magazine’s Azerbaijani representative Aysel Nasirzada analyze Rustamkhanli’s poems and literary identity in three separate sections titled “Poet of the Motherland,” “This World Called Homeland is Mysterious,” and “Poems” by Doctor of Philological Sciences Vagif Yusifli. Yavuz Selim Ugurlu expresses his thoughts about the poet’s inner world in his article “Sabir Rustamkhanli’s Work Titled ‘My Father’s Soul’,” and Irada Aytel in her article “Two Words – Separation or Love Poems in Sabir Rustamkhanli’s Work…”. The article “Catharsis of Society in Sabir Rustamkhanli’s Novella ‘The World is Cleansing'” by Doc. Dr. Elnara Elkhan Qizi Garagozova, PhD in Philology at the Department of Literary Criticism of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS, along with Dr. Shehla Aslan’s “Sabir Rustamkhanli: The Voice of Language, Identity, and Homeland,” Saida Aliyeva’s “Sabir Rustamkhanli’s Work as a New Thinking Phenomenon,” PhD in Art History Nigar Sultanli’s “The Word is a Grace Sent by the Creator to His Caliph,” and Nazakat Javadova’s “A Life Extending from the Poet’s Heart to the Nation’s Memory” create a detailed review of the poet’s worldview, work, and struggle.

The section of the magazine related to the People’s Poet concludes with the article “The Peak of the Nation’s Word: Sabir Rustamkhanli – 80” by Gülnar Hüseynova (Faiqqızı).
