Israel and Greece are moving to the next stage of cooperation in the defense sector. An agreement on the creation of the Greek ‘Shield of Achilles’ air/missile defense system, worth approximately 3.1 billion euros, is expected to be signed in Tel Aviv on Monday.
“Elchi” reports, citing the ‘Ynet’ publication, that this will be one of the largest joint defense projects between the two countries. Once the agreement is signed, the implementation phase will begin, which is expected to last approximately 35 months.
‘Ynet’ states that the system, equipped with artificial intelligence technologies, will be designed to counter unmanned aerial vehicles, aircraft, and ballistic missiles.
