On August 28, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov visited the Republic of Belarus.
According to the information provided to elchi by the MFA, within the framework of the visit, the Deputy Minister was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maksim Ryzhenkov.
During the meeting, issues arising from the strategic partnership relations between the two states were discussed. The role of the leaders of the two countries in the development of strategic partnership relations based on friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus was especially emphasized.
Later, the next round of political consultations was held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. The political consultations were led by Deputy Minister Samir Sharifov on behalf of Azerbaijan, and by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pavel Utyupin on behalf of Belarus.
During the consultations, the positive dynamics of the bilateral political dialogue were emphasized, and the important role of the Intergovernmental Commission and the political consultation mechanism was noted.
At the same time, the status of the implementation of the reached agreements, as well as the current state and prospects of cooperation in trade-economic, energy, agricultural, humanitarian, and other areas of mutual interest were discussed.
In addition, issues of mutual activity within the framework of regional and international organizations were reviewed.
Within the framework of the consultations, an exchange of views was also held on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
