Meeting of the Azerbaijan-Armenia delimitation commission held, protocol signed

On April 29, the thirteenth meeting of the State Commission on the Delimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia and the Commission on Delimitation of the State Border and Border Security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in Aghveran, Republic of Armenia, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan.

elchi reports that the Secretariat of the State Commission on the Delimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia released information regarding this.

It was noted with satisfaction that the 13th meeting of the commissions took place once again on the territory of one of the parties – in Aghveran, Republic of Armenia.

During the meeting, the parties held a detailed exchange of views on organizational and technical issues related to the implementation of delimitation measures.

The parties agreed upon and exchanged the texts of the following draft instructions regarding the procedure for carrying out delimitation work:

• “Instruction on the working procedure of expert groups on delimitation during the delimitation of the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia”;

• “Instruction on the preparation of the delimitation map of the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia”;

• “Instruction on the procedure for the preparation and publication of delimitation documents of the state border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia”.

The parties agreed to appeal to their respective governments for the formal approval of these instructions.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan held a separate exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.

It was noted that the transit of goods through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Armenia is being successfully carried out and is currently continuing.

It was emphasized with satisfaction that Azerbaijan’s supply of petroleum products to Armenia is an indicator of the formation of economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Also, with the participation of representatives of the business circles of the parties, issues of developing economic and trade cooperation, mutual supply of goods and services, as well as transit transportation were discussed.

It was specifically noted that the results achieved were possible thanks to the political will of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

A relevant Protocol was signed on the results of the meeting of the commissions.

The parties agreed to determine the date of the next meeting of the commissions in the Republic of Azerbaijan in a working manner.
