The internal state procedures necessary for the entry into force of the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Maldives on the mutual exemption of visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports,” signed in New York on September 24, 2025, have been completed.
“Elchi” reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released information regarding this.
Accordingly, in line with the relevant provisions of the agreement, the document enters into force on April 29, 2026.
Under the agreement, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan holding valid ordinary passports and citizens of the Republic of Maldives holding valid ordinary passports are exempt from visa requirements for entering, exiting, or transiting through the territory of the other party, as well as for staying in that territory for a period not exceeding 90 (ninety) days from the date of entry.
