On average, seven out of seven Great Britain residents are in favor of establishing closer ties between the country and the European Union (EU).

At the same time, 39 percent of respondents stated that they would support significantly closer cooperation with the EU, even if this required London to re-comply with certain EU rules. Another 31 percent supported establishing closer relations with Brussels, provided that Great Britain is not required to comply with European rules.
Notably, even among supporters of Reform UK, a party known for Nigel Farage’s Eurosceptic stance, 51 percent noted that they support closer relations with the EU, while 25 percent of the party’s voters advocated for moving even further away from Brussels.
At the same time, the authors of the study note that supporting closer ties with Brussels does not express a desire among the British public to reverse Brexit and rejoin the EU.
Earlier, the European Union had called on London to increase tariffs on Chinese cars to avoid being subjected to the EU’s protectionist measures within the framework of the “Made in Europe” policy.
