COP29 has been an important contribution to uniting international efforts.

“Discussing issues of fundamental importance for ensuring environmental sustainability, economic development, and the well-being of our peoples within the framework of the Regional Environmental Summit is a highly relevant and timely step. Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the protection of the environment and the fight against climate change, and considers these directions an integral part of the national and international agenda for sustainable development. In this context, the UN climate conference held in Baku – COP29, has been an important contribution of our country to uniting international efforts on key issues of the global climate agenda. We are confident that the results of the current summit will also serve to develop practical initiatives and strengthen regional cooperation in the field of environmental protection. In a situation where global challenges related to climate change, the depletion of freshwater reserves, and the increasing burden on water resources are intensifying, issues of water security are of priority importance on the international agenda.
In this regard, we support the initiative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to establish a specialized international water organization under the auspices of the UN,” the Prime Minister said.
