“Tasnim”: Iran warns of possible closure of the strait due to US blockade

If the US continues its naval blockade, Iran may close the Strait of Hormuz again.

“Elchi” reports that the “Tasnim” agency has released this information, citing a source within the Iranian leadership.

According to the source, the issue regarding the strait depends on the implementation of a number of agreements and adherence to the ceasefire regime in Lebanon. It is noted that if the naval blockade continues, it will be considered a violation of the ceasefire, after which movement through the strait could be blocked.

The agency’s interlocutor emphasized that certain conditions remain in effect for passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Specifically, the passage of foreign military vessels, as well as ships associated with “hostile countries,” is prohibited. The transport of cargo from countries that are “hostile” to Iran has been banned.

Passage through the strait must be coordinated with the Iranian military and is only possible along strictly defined routes.
