“Elchi” reports that this was stated by Georgian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lasha Darsalia during his speech at the high-level event titled “Prosperity through Peace: Investments in the Trans-Caspian Trade Route and the TRIPP Initiative,” held in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly at the initiative of the US Department of State.
He stated that strengthening peace and connectivity in the region creates new opportunities for economic development and cooperation.
The MFA official also spoke about the importance of the Middle Corridor and the TRIPP initiative, noting that their development will contribute to strengthening regional connectivity, expanding trade and transit opportunities, as well as attracting new investments.
Lasha Darsalia also mentioned the infrastructure projects being implemented by Georgia for the development of the Middle Corridor. In this context, he specifically emphasized the importance of the Anaklia deep-sea port, which will further strengthen Georgia’s maritime transport links and contribute to the development of the Middle Corridor’s capabilities.
The Deputy Minister added that Georgia is ready to contribute to strengthening regional connectivity and creating new economic opportunities through cooperation with the US, as well as regional and international partners.
