US bases targeted by Iran: Details of the Chinese-made spy satellite

British media claims that Iran is using a Chinese-made spy satellite to target US bases in a war initiated by attacks from the US and Israel.
elchi reports that, according to a report by the British Financial Times (FT) based on leaked military documents, satellite imagery and orbital analysis show that a Chinese-made satellite has been used to track US military targets.
According to investigations, the “TEE-01B” satellite, manufactured by the China-based company “Earth Eye Co.” and launched into space at the end of 2024, was purchased by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shortly after its launch. Orbital analysis indicates that the spy satellite, capable of providing half-meter resolution images, was positioned over US military bases during drone and missile attacks.
The tracked targets reportedly included US military facilities in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, and Iraq.
The report claimed that the images were recorded immediately before and after drone and missile attacks, suggesting that the satellite may have been used to guide the strikes.
The report alleged that Iran obtained permission to use ground stations belonging to the Beijing-based company “Emposat,” which gave it access to data from the satellite not only from its own territory but also from a network extending from Asia to Latin America.
Experts stated that this situation represents an improvement in Iran’s military intelligence capabilities and assessed that it is unlikely such a technology transfer could occur on this scale without Beijing’s approval.
US President Donald Trump had stated that he was considering imposing a 50% tariff on countries providing military support to Iran. In response to a question about whether this would include China and possibly other countries, Trump said: “Yes, it includes China and probably others. But it especially includes China. I’ve heard reports that China is supplying shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles (to Iran). I don’t always believe those reports. I don’t think they would do that, maybe they did a little bit at first. But if we see any country, including China, supplying military equipment to Iran, they will face a 50 percent tariff.”
