One source described the strengthening of intelligence as an important tactical move that could theoretically lay the groundwork for military intervention, while emphasizing that there are no concrete plans as of yet.
“Politico’s” interlocutor stated that the administration of US President Donald Trump intends to use all traditional tools, including the resources of the intelligence community, to achieve changes in Cuba.
Although Trump previously stated that Washington was not planning military operations against Cuba and that it would collapse on its own, he later toughened his rhetoric.
Havana, for its part, has begun preparations to repel a possible intervention.
