A delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev has arrived in Shanghai for a business visit at the invitation of Ying Yong, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of the People’s Republic of China.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Within the framework of the visit, a bilateral meeting was held between the Prosecutor General and Ying Yong, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of the People’s Republic of China.
Welcoming the delegation warmly, Mr. Ying stated that Azerbaijan and China are strategic partner states, emphasized the continued successful cooperation covering many areas, and expressed his satisfaction with the development of inter-institutional partnership relations. Ying Yong recalled the previous visits of our country’s delegation. The host also noted that the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters signed between our countries would further deepen cooperation between the legal systems of our nations.

Kamran Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and high hospitality, noting that for many years, China has firmly supported our country’s political initiatives on various international platforms. In recent years, mutual relations between our countries have developed on an upward trajectory as a result of the political will and efforts of the heads of state, reaching the level of strategic partnership. President Ilham Aliyev’s two visits to China last year, the regular meetings held between the parties, and the signing of the “Joint Statement on the Establishment of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of China” by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping, in April last year are clear examples of this.

As a logical continuation of this, strong cooperation ties have been established between the prosecution authorities of both countries, and useful mutual experience exchange has been carried out. Thus, a large delegation from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China participated in the General Conference and Annual Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors held in Baku in 2024. At the same time, last year, a large delegation from the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan underwent long-term training in China.
Subsequently, an exchange of views took place and an agreement was reached regarding the fight against various forms of crime, practical cooperation issues, as well as prospects for expanding legal and institutional cooperation, and the involvement of prosecution staff in education at higher education institutions of the People’s Republic of China.
Kamran Aliyev also invited his counterpart to visit our country to strengthen mutual relations.
The delegation’s visit continues, and a number of meetings are planned within the framework of the visit.
