The US military has destroyed two boats belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) with a missile strike after they attempted to seize an unmanned surface vessel of the US Navy.
“Elchi” reports, citing “Axios”, that this information was confirmed by Captain Tim Hawkins, a representative of the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
According to him, although the small Iranian vessels recently attempted to neutralize the US unmanned vehicle, they failed to do so following the decisive response of CENTCOM forces. The vehicle remains under the command’s control.
At the same time, according to Iranian media claims, fishing boats were hit and several fishermen are considered missing.
The American official also told “Axios” that US Navy ships are currently escorting tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz not only at night, as they have been in recent weeks, but also during the day.
