Swiss–Azerbaijani Business Forum held

Within the framework of the business visit of the Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov to the Swiss Confederation, the Swiss–Azerbaijani Business Forum was held.

“Elchi” reports with reference to the ministry that, in addition to government officials from both countries, representatives of companies representing energy, transport and logistics, construction, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, food, tourism, healthcare, telecommunications, consulting, finance, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors participated in the event.

Speaking at the forum, M. Jabbarov spoke about the development dynamics of Azerbaijani–Swiss economic cooperation and stated that trade and mutual investments are among the main directions of bilateral economic relations. The Minister emphasized Azerbaijan’s favorable business and investment environment, strategic geographical location, transport and logistics capabilities, and its growing role within the Middle Corridor. He noted that the free economic and industrial zones operating in our country, as well as the green energy potential, create new cooperation opportunities for investors, including Swiss companies.

The importance of the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, which will be held in Baku on September 25-26 this year under the patronage of President Ilham Aliyev, was emphasized in terms of establishing new partnerships and attracting investments.

Andrea Rauber Saxer, representative of the Swiss Federal Council for Trade Agreements and Head of the Bilateral Economic Relations Division of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, in her speech, noted the importance of the development of the Azerbaijani–Swiss economic dialogue, the expansion of trade and investment relations, as well as increasing direct contacts between business circles.

Within the framework of the forum, global trends in the field of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, innovation ecosystems, and investment promotion were reviewed, presentations by Azerbaijani and Swiss companies were heard, and an exchange of views took place regarding investment priorities, access to global markets, and cooperation models.
