In January-September of this year, 26 incidents of throwing stones at moving passenger trains belonging to Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) were recorded.
elchi reports this, citing ADY.
According to the information, although the number of similar incidents decreased by 38% compared to the same period last year, the unpleasant consequences remain the same: the lives of passengers and train crew are endangered, serious damage is caused to the train, the driver has to stop the train urgently, resulting in delays in the schedule.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Police Department on Railway Transport was informed about the revealed facts, and relevant investigations have been carried out for each fact.
“Considering that those who throw stones at trains are mainly minors, ADY urges parents to regularly educate their children about this. We remind you once again that throwing stones at trains, which are considered state property, is a crime,” the statement said.
