On Wednesday, ambassadors of the European Union (EU) countries are expected to vote in favor of the 22nd package of sanctions directed against Russia’s (RF) military-industrial complex.
“Elchi” reports citing “Reuters” that EU diplomats stated this today.
It is noted that this sanctions package, which will cover 1,570 individuals and companies, will be the largest package since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
After being approved by the EU ambassadors, it will be sent next Monday to the foreign ministers of the bloc’s member countries for final approval.
It is specified that the majority of the sanctioned companies and individuals are connected to Russia’s military-industrial complex, with more than half of them concentrated in missile production.
Recall that the 21st package of sanctions against the RF was adopted by the EU in July of the current year. Currently, just over 3,000 individuals are included in the EU’s anti-Russia restrictions.
