Today, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, received the newly appointed ambassador of Georgia to our country, Giorgi Zakarashvili.
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
It was reported that Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic activities aimed at further developing relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the traditional friendly and good-neighborly relations, as well as the high-level existing ties between our countries, play an important role in the development of bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the current state and prospects of development of Azerbaijan-Georgia partnership relations, economic and trade relations, energy security, transport and communication projects, defense, security, and cooperation in other areas were discussed. It was emphasized that relations based on mutual trust are of special importance for the stability and development of the region. The importance of mutual support within international organizations was noted.
The parties noted the regional and global significance of joint projects implemented in the fields of energy and transport, including Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, the Southern Gas Corridor, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, and the Middle Corridor, as well as “green energy” projects such as the Black Sea submarine electricity cable.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided the ambassador with detailed information about the realities that emerged in the region during the post-conflict period, the large-scale restoration and construction work carried out in the territories liberated from occupation, as well as the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace and normalization process.
Ambassador Giorgi Zakarashvili expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized that it is a great honor and responsibility for him to serve in this position. He stated that during his tenure, he will spare no effort to further expand the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, an exchange of views also took place on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
