Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, who is on a visit to Kazakhstan to participate in the XXIV session of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, met with the country’s Vice President Yerlan Karin at the latter’s initiative.

During the meeting, it was especially noted that Azerbaijani-Kazakh friendship and brotherhood are relations tested in good days and difficult moments.
A. Pashazade stated that Azerbaijan, recognized globally as a space for interreligious dialogue and cross-denominational understanding, plans to host a summit of religious leaders next year within the framework of the country’s chairmanship of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
It was brought to attention that His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar al-Sharif, will participate as an honorary guest in the event, which will be held on the eve of the OIC meeting with the co-organization of the Muslim Council of Elders. A. Pashazade expressed his honor in inviting Kazakhstan’s Vice President Yerlan Karin to this high-level forum, which is expected to be attended by a number of state leaders and officials. The invitation was accepted with pleasure.
The Sheikhulislam expressed condolences to the Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan regarding the Kazakh servicemen who recently died during military exercises in the Caspian Sea, and today, in the person of the Vice President, once again expressed deep condolences to the state and people of Kazakhstan, the families and relatives of the deceased, wishing mercy to the departed from Almighty Allah. The assistance, attention, and care shown by Kazakhstan during the AZAL plane crash, as a true example of brotherhood, were specially noted.
