An Uzbek citizen, born in 1981, who has been on the international wanted list for a long time on suspicion of human trafficking, has been detained in Istanbul.

According to law enforcement agencies, the detained N. E. was wanted under Article 135, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which provides for responsibility for human trafficking.
The investigation suspects the woman of deceiving young girls with promises of high-paying jobs abroad and taking them to Turkey. According to the case materials, the victims’ passports were confiscated there, and they were subjected to exploitation.
The arrest was the result of operational-search measures carried out in cooperation with the Turkish law enforcement agencies. After her location was identified, the suspect was detained in Istanbul.
N. E. has been handed over to the competent authorities of Uzbekistan in the prescribed manner. Currently, investigation and procedural measures are being continued against her.
