However, in a number of cases, the violation of rules for transporting cargo and passengers with these types of vehicles, and their failure to meet technical requirements, create conditions for road accidents with a high degree of severity.”
“Elchi” reports that this was stated by the Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It was noted that carrying out transport with agricultural machinery that is unfit for use from a technical-safety perspective, has faulty external lighting devices, has additional equipment installed in violation of requirements, or lacks state registration plates is a serious danger not only for the driver but also for other road users:
“Transporting people working in fields in trucks, tractors, or trailers that are not equipped in accordance with legislation, and transporting hay or various types of products without packaging and by exceeding weight and dimension parameters also creates grounds for the occurrence of accidents with a high degree of severity.
Taking into account that sowing and harvesting works have accelerated, the Main State Traffic Police Department once again calls on legal and physical entities engaged in agricultural activities to pay special attention to ensuring the road safety of the workers they employ, and to ensure that the transportation and packaging of products are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the legislation, and brings to their attention that control measures in this area have been strengthened.”
