Considering that traffic will be restricted on the avenues and streets covered by the Baku City Circuit due to the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix from September 22 to 27, 2026, classes in 5 general education institutions will be organized in a distant (remote) format.
“Elchi” reports that the Baku City Education Department (BCEI) has released information regarding this.
It was noted that classes at Lyceum No. 6 named after Tofiq Ismayilov, Secondary School No. 8 named after Karim Karimov, Secondary School No. 23 named after Tahir Hasanov, Lyceum No. 132-134, and the Elitar Gymnasium named after Ilyas Afandiyev will be organized in a distant (remote) format from September 22 to 26, 2026.
We remind you that traffic restrictions will also be applied in certain areas during the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix due to the race.
Thus, the first restriction will come into effect from 21:00 on September 19. It will be applied to the section of Pushkin Street from the intersection with Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street and Neftchilar Avenue. The restriction will continue until the end of the event.
According to the Traffic Management Plan, the streets through which the Baku City Circuit passes and the areas covered by the track will be closed to traffic from 01:00 on September 20 to 08:00 on September 28. Entry and exit to the restricted zones will be possible only with a “Residential Access Permit”.
