According to the joint statement of “Baku Metropolitan” CJSC and the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), in connection with the line separation project, and with the aim of creating additional travel opportunities for passengers and organizing transport flows more efficiently, entry to the “Khojasan” and “Avtovagzal” stations will be free of charge for a temporary period starting from 23.09.2026.
“Elchi” reports that this opportunity will facilitate the use of the metro for passengers coming from the cities of Sumgayit and Khirdalan, residential areas located along the Baku–Shamakhi road, as well as a number of areas in the Absheron and Garadagh districts, without having to enter the “Shamakinka” and “20 Yanvar” areas.
Thus, passengers arriving from the mentioned directions will be able to enter through the “Khojasan” and “Avtovagzal” stations and travel free of charge to the “8 Noyabr”, “Darnagul”, “Azadlig prospekti”, “Nasimi”, “Memar Ajami”, “20 Yanvar”, “Inshaatchilar”, “Elmlar Akademiyasi”, and “Nizami” stations.
Within the framework of centralized transport management, it is planned to redirect a number of bus routes directly to the “Khojasan” and “Avtovagzal” stations based on necessary directions identified through monitoring and socio-economic analysis.
The measures taken will serve to create more convenient and alternative travel opportunities between the Green and Purple lines and the Red line, and to reduce time and financial losses for passengers.
Thereby, during the implementation of the line separation project, more efficient distribution of passenger flows, optimization of public transport movement at the city’s entry points, and the expansion of alternative routes for passengers will be ensured.
