A three-year Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Ministry of Science and Education and OpenAI, aimed at expanding the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the field of education.

According to the information, the document was signed in New York by Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev and OpenAI’s Vice President of Education, Leah Belsky:
“The main goal of the new partnership is to improve teaching and learning opportunities for teachers and students by using artificial intelligence technologies, to organize the educational process more efficiently and accessibly, and to form approaches for the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence in educational institutions.
Within the framework of the cooperation, it is planned to develop AI-based teaching tools, conduct training for teachers and other educational staff on the effective use of new technologies, and prepare standards and methodological approaches for the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence in schools.
One of the main directions of the cooperation is the development of the education management system for mathematics, natural sciences, and reading subjects using OpenAI technologies. The new opportunities are intended to provide AI-based support to teachers in the process of preparing lessons, creating teaching materials, and assessing students. This aims to optimize the time teachers spend on preparation and administrative tasks, allowing them to dedicate more time to direct work with students.
In addition, various training programs on artificial intelligence are planned for teachers, students, and employees of educational institutions. Through the ‘Train the Trainer’ program, it is intended to strengthen the potential of local experts and trainers in the field of artificial intelligence.
The parties will also cooperate in the development of methodological approaches, recommendations, and relevant frameworks for the safe, ethical, and responsible use of artificial intelligence in education.”
It was noted that this is the second Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Science and Education and OpenAI. Within the framework of the initial cooperation, the process of developing an adaptive learning platform was implemented.
