“There are traces of the rich Christian heritage of Caucasian Albania in Karabakh and other regions of Azerbaijan.”
“Elchi” reports that this was noted by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, in a post on his “X” account regarding his speech at the Arab Media Forum.
“I spoke about the ancient state of Caucasian Albania and its rich Christian heritage. It is possible to see the continuous and particularly significant traces of this heritage in Karabakh and other regions of Azerbaijan.
I emphasized Azerbaijan’s centuries-old traditions of multiculturalism and religious coexistence, as well as our country’s commitment to protecting, preserving, and restoring rich cultural and religious heritage regardless of its origin or religious affiliation.
I also spoke about the large-scale destruction, desecration, and alterations carried out against Azerbaijan’s religious and cultural heritage during the years of occupation. I noted the importance of preserving historical truths and safeguarding cultural heritage for future generations.
The panel, in which I participated together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Minister of Economy and Tourism of the UAE, was moderated by the CEO of Euronews,” Hikmet Hajiyev emphasized.
