In the first half of 2026, a surplus of 4.7 billion US dollars was formed in the current account (CA). This is 2 times more compared to the same period last year.
elchi reports that this was stated by Samir Nasirov, Director of the Statistics Department of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, at a briefing dedicated to the announcement of the balance of payments.
According to him, the surplus in the CA was equal to 12.4% of the gross domestic product (GDP).
It should be noted that in the same period of last year, the current account surplus amounted to 2.6 billion US dollars.
