Russian President Vladimir Putin has restricted access to information about the operations, energy exports, and transportation of oil refineries.
“Elchi” reports, citing foreign media, that the relevant decree entered into force on September 28.
The restrictions include data on production and processing volumes at Russian oil refineries. Some export data, including the quantity and value of goods, sellers and buyers, supply routes, and transportation routes, has also been restricted.
The restrictions also affect information about companies engaged in energy transportation, including carriers, freight forwarders, and insurers. The list includes information on sea vessels, shipping documents, and the timing of export operations.
The decree particularly affects the trade of petroleum products. Access to information on planned sales volumes of gasoline and diesel fuel, as well as the volume of completed exchange transactions, has been restricted.
It is prohibited to disseminate information included in the list via media and the internet. However, an exception is provided: a company may disclose information about its own activities.
The document explains the decision by the necessity of taking urgent measures in response to the actions of the US and allied states and international organizations, which the Russian authorities called “unfriendly and contrary to international law”.
