The death toll from the devastating floods that have been ongoing for some time in Nepal has risen to 1,287.
“Elchi” reports that the National Disaster Risk Reduction Authority of Nepal announced this on the “X” social network on Friday.
It is noted that the majority of the victims are in the districts of Chitwan, East Nawalparasi, and West Nawalparasi — 359, 219, and 212 deaths, respectively.
So far, rescue services have saved more than 13,000 people. More than 5,000 people are still considered missing, particularly in the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts (approximately 2,130 and 2,340 people, respectively). Among the missing are 583 foreign citizens.
More than 21,000 security personnel have been involved in search and rescue operations in the disaster zones.
