Netanyahu calls to prepare Israeli economy against international sanctions

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called to prepare the country’s economy and banking sector against the possibility of imposing strict international sanctions.

“Elchi” reports, citing “The Times of Israel”, that he stated this in an interview with the economic television channel “Channel 10”.

Answering a question about the possible impact of sanctions on the Israeli economy, Netanyahu admitted that he is concerned about such a prospect.

The Prime Minister also stated that Israel must prepare for the cessation of US aid to its defense budget.

“Tens of billions of dollars in American aid will not flow into the defense budget forever. Because America has changed. Not because Israel has changed. This will come to an end, it’s a matter of time,” he said.

Speaking about possible banking restrictions, the head of government emphasized the necessity of creating alternative economic mechanisms.

“It must be understood that sanctions are possible. Banking sanctions mean that it is necessary to establish an alternative economy capable of bypassing them,” Netanyahu noted.

In this context, he mentioned currencies that allow bypassing such restrictions, including blockchain-based cryptocurrencies.

According to the Prime Minister, blockchain is one of the options Israel is considering to bypass possible sanctions. He added that he has already instructed the preparation of a relevant plan.
