US President Donald Trump has expressed hope for a Republican victory in the midterm elections and stated that he is ready to use his veto power if the outcome is different.
“Elchi” reports that Trump told journalists in front of the White House.
“I think the Republicans will win. But if there is a political stalemate as you say, I will veto everything. Then the Democrats will come and want to negotiate. Thus, we will find a solution,” Trump said.
The US leader noted that such situations ultimately lead the parties to negotiations.
“If you look at history, when such a situation arises, a veto is imposed. Then they come and ask how to do this – and an agreement is reached,” he added.
It should be noted that midterm elections to Congress will be held in the US on November 3. American voters will determine all 435 members of the House of Representatives and 35 members of the Senate.
