A ship moving not on the route designated by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz has hit a mine.
“Elchi” reports, citing “Tasnim”, that a fire broke out on the tanker that collided with naval mines.
The Iranian Navy (HDQ) stated that the incident occurred in the first half of the day and was recorded east of the Strait of Hormuz: “An oil tanker moving in a prohibited and dangerous zone collided with naval mines and was damaged.
The Strait of Hormuz is closed to ships intending to pass through dangerous zones without agreement.”
It should be recalled that at night, the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) denied reports from the Iranian press about commercial ships exploding after hitting naval mines while passing through the Strait of Hormuz. According to CENTCOM, the Strait of Hormuz has been completely cleared of mines.
In the morning, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Agency (UKMTO) released information about an incident in the Strait of Hormuz, 9 nautical miles north of Hasab (Oman).
It should be noted that the Iranian side claims that oil tankers hit mines in the Strait of Hormuz, while UKMTO claims that the ships were hit by an unknown projectile.
