The number of Baku Metro passengers decreased by more than 12% last month

In August of this year, passengers made more than 13 million trips by metro.

elchi reports, citing “Baku Metropolitan” CJSC, that 12.22% fewer passengers were transported last month compared to the same period of the previous year.

“Koroglu” station was the leader of the month, serving 1,400,424 passengers.

August 3rd was the busiest day of the month with 548,751 passengers.

A total of 6,802,045 payments were made via NFC and QR tickets. This figure accounted for 53.5% of passengers using the metro with payment during the month, which is an increase of 0.5% compared to July.

Within the framework of the “Accessible Metro” service, 79 requests were fulfilled.

It should be reminded that “Baku Metropolitan” CJSC launched the main construction phase of the project to separate the Red and Green lines on August 15. The construction work will last approximately 10-11 months, and during this period, trains will not operate between “Nizami” and “28 May” stations.
