Three-day mourning declared in Northern Cyprus

A three-day national mourning has been declared in Northern Cyprus due to the passenger ship operating the Girne-Tasucu route crashing off the coast of Girne and causing loss of life.

“Elchi” reports that this was announced by “Haber Global”.

It should be recalled that the Prime Minister of Northern Cyprus, Unal Ustel, announced that the ship’s captain and 7 crew members have been detained as part of the investigation into the passenger ship that sank off the coast of Girne.

In the ship accident that occurred off the coast of Girne, 8 people lost their lives and 237 people were rescued. Among those rescued are two Azerbaijani citizens.
