On July 31, within the framework of her visit to the Republic of South Africa, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova participated in the Conference of Speakers of National and Regional Parliaments in Midrand.

Touching upon the deep transformations occurring in the modern system of international relations, ongoing conflicts, economic inequality, and the challenges posed by climate change in her speech, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis emphasized that in the current conditions where trust in international institutions is facing increasing pressure, parliaments cannot remain on the sidelines of global decision-making processes. Expressing her solidarity with the Pan-African Parliament as well as the parliaments of African countries, Sahiba Gafarova emphasized the importance of Africa having a stronger voice and a more active role in the international relations system.
