President Ilham Aliyev has thanked the President of Kyrgyzstan for the support provided in the restoration of Karabakh.
“Elchi” reports that in his statement to the press with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated that they participated together in the opening of the “Manas” school in the Aghdam district: “This was a great contribution of the Kyrgyz people to the restoration of Karabakh, which suffered from occupation for 30 years. We are also united by our history, culture, and respect for the prominent representatives of our peoples. Together, we have also inaugurated the monument to Chingiz Aitmatov and the park bearing his name in Baku.
Today, we held our meeting near the house where Chingiz Aitmatov lived, in a place with his portrait on the walls. All this is an indicator of our peoples’ desire to be close to each other.
I have not forgotten that a few years ago, we jointly inaugurated the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Friendship Park in Bishkek. This is one of the small but important examples of our cooperation.
The humanitarian ties, cultural events, and the Days of Culture of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan that we discussed today create a positive atmosphere between our peoples and once again demonstrate how close our peoples, who share common roots, are.”
