During the control measures carried out by the employees of the State Environmental Security Service over the past week, facts of illegal cutting of greenery were discovered in Baku city, as well as in Sabirabad, Khachmaz, Shamakhi, Ismayilli, and Shabran districts.

As a result of the investigations, it was determined that trees were illegally cut in the M.A. Rasulzade settlement of the Binagadi district of Baku, in the villages of Muganli (Sabirabad district), Garadagli (Khachmaz district), Guneshli (Shamakhi district), Kurdmashi (Ismayilli district), as well as at the 47th kilometer of the Garamaryam–Ismayilli–Sheki highway and along the highway passing through the territory of the Shabran district.
It has been determined that a total of 227,850 manats of damage was caused to greenery as a result of the illegal tree cutting.
It was stated that since the amount of damage caused to greenery in each case constitutes a criminal offense, the collected materials have been sent to law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
