The amount of Azerbaijan’s state-guaranteed debt has been announced

As of July 1 of this year, the amount of Azerbaijan’s state-guaranteed debt (domestic and foreign state-guaranteed debt) amounted to 7,232.3 million manats, or 5.5 percent of the projected GDP of 130,873.5 million manats for 2026.

elchi reports this with reference to the Ministry of Finance’s “Statistical Bulletin on Public Debt and State-Guaranteed Debt for the first half of 2026”.

4,928.0 million manats (2,898.8 million US dollars), or 68.1 percent of the state guarantee, accounts for foreign state-guaranteed loans, and 2,304.3 million manats, or 31.9 percent, accounts for domestic state-guaranteed loans. The reason for the significant decrease in foreign state-guaranteed debt was the repayment of foreign currency-denominated bonds in the amount of 2,000.0 million US dollars attracted by the “Southern Gas Corridor” Closed Joint-Stock Company with a state guarantee.
