Based on the extradition request addressed by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the competent authorities of Ukraine and the documents submitted in accordance with the requirements of international treaties, a decision has been made to extradite Ismayilov Alagha Mazahir oglu to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
With this, the number of extradition decisions made regarding individuals identified on the territory of Ukraine and handed over to the Republic of Azerbaijan within the last year has reached 7.
Based on the evidence collected in the criminal case under investigation by the Investigation Department of the Surakhani District Police Department of Baku city, reasonable suspicions were established that Alagha Ismayilov committed fraud as provided for by the criminal law of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and he was involved as an accused person.
As he was evading investigation, a preventive measure of arrest was chosen against him, and he was declared internationally wanted through the mediation of the National Central Bureau of Interpol.
As a result of the international search operations carried out, his location in the territory of Ukraine was determined, and his detention was ensured.
Currently, appropriate measures are being taken by the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice in accordance with international procedures to bring the person to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Prosecutor General’s Office will continue to consistently cooperate with foreign partner law enforcement agencies, including Interpol, in identifying persons wanted internationally and extraditing them to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
