Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has arrived in Turkey for an official visit.

Following the official welcoming ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, J. Aoun held a one-on-one meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as current issues on the regional and international agenda, were discussed.
At the conclusion of the talks, the leaders held a joint press conference.
In his speech, Erdogan stated that J. Aoun’s arrival in Ankara marks the first visit to Turkey by a Lebanese head of state in 17 years.
“During the meeting, we specifically discussed Israel’s ongoing attacks in southern Lebanon. We continue to support the friendly and brotherly people of Lebanon. Lebanon has been one of the countries we have targeted in the Middle East from the very beginning.”
