Azerbaijan’s migration policy has been formed in accordance with international practice.
This was stated by the Chief of the State Migration Service, Vusal Huseynov, during a media tour held on the topic of “Media awareness in the field of migration”.
He noted that one of the main directions is the promotion of legal migration: “Within the framework of this direction, opportunities are being expanded for foreigners who want to come to the country legally, procedures are being simplified, and services are being made more accessible. This includes expanding the scope of the visa-free regime, simplifying border crossing procedures, and developing electronic services. Currently, Azerbaijan creates visa-free entry opportunities for citizens of 17 countries. Citizens of 89 countries can obtain an electronic visa through the ASAN Visa system, and citizens of 11 countries can obtain a visa directly at the airport.
In addition, steps have been taken in recent months to implement a visa-free regime with a number of countries. These countries include Japan, Oman, the Republic of Korea, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as several other states.”
