Competing in its 4th season in continental tournaments, the team achieved its jubilee victory in its 18th match. “Sabah” has become the 5th team in the history of Azerbaijani football to win at least 10 European cup matches.
This went down in history as the 70th away victory for Azerbaijani clubs in European cups. Our representatives have achieved this many wins in 251 attempts on opponents’ grounds.
Joy-Lance Mickels, the author of “Sabah”‘s second goal, has scored for the 10th time in European cups. The German footballer achieved this in his 16th such match for the capital representative. Mickels has become the 7th footballer to score 10 or more goals for Azerbaijani clubs. He has scored the same number of goals as Emin Mahmudov and Filip Ozobić.
It should be noted that “Sabah”, having won all 4 matches played this season, has earned 1.000 points for our country’s UEFA ranking and secured a spot in the league phase of the European cups.
