Moldovan government to discuss fuel situation

Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has announced that he will convene an emergency government meeting on July 28 to review the situation in the energy sector, including the diesel and gas markets.

“Elchi” reports that the Prime Minister announced this on social media.

Today, the Moldovan government announced a temporary shortage of diesel at some gas stations and noted that the situation is being resolved with additional fuel supplies.

Among the reasons for the diesel shortage are the drop in the water level of the Danube River, as well as the escalating conflict in the Middle East, which has caused bottlenecks in transport chains and affected fuel supplies.

“I am closely monitoring all processes taking place in Moldova’s energy sector, including the diesel and gas markets. Given recent events, I have decided to convene a government meeting tomorrow morning to ensure that all necessary mechanisms are in place for the executive branch to react promptly if needed,” Tofan said.
