Russia is considering various proposals to ensure the safe transportation of grain through the Black Sea, continuing negotiations with Turkey and other countries on this matter. However, Moscow does not expect the “grain deal” to be restored.
“Elchi” reports that Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alimov stated this in an interview with the “Interfax” agency.
According to him, Moscow is examining proposals from various countries and continuing discussions with interested parties regarding the security of grain shipments.
He noted that the issue of restoring the Black Sea Grain Initiative is also being discussed at the United Nations. However, the Russian side does not agree with the proposed options for the agreement to come back into force.
A. Alimov emphasized that Moscow considers the previous initiative unsuccessful. In his opinion, the UN has failed to ensure the fulfillment of Russia’s obligations regarding the export of its fertilizers and agricultural products.
“We do not see any possibility of restoring the ‘grain deal’ in any form,” the diplomat concluded.
