In January-June of this year, passenger trains of Azerbaijan Railways were pelted with stones 21 times while in motion.
“Elchi” reports, citing ADY, that these incidents caused damage to the trains and put the safety of passengers and train crew at serious risk.
“Individuals who commit such illegal acts are identified by law enforcement agencies and punished in accordance with the legislation. In cases involving minors, their parents or legal representatives bear the responsibility provided for by law. We ask parents to discourage their children from such dangerous actions and to talk to them about safe behavior rules around the railway,” the organization’s statement said.
