Argentina national team head coach Lionel Scaloni has announced his decision regarding his future.
elchi reports that the 48-year-old specialist stated he is considering stepping down from his position in December following the 0-1 defeat to Spain in the 2026 World Cup final.
“I will continue to work until December. Then I will talk to the president of the federation. I am probably thinking of taking a break for a while.
I am very happy and proud to be in this position. If the president wants, I will stay here until December, but the situation may change after that. After December, we will likely part ways with the Argentine Football Association,” Scaloni said.
It should be noted that Lionel Scaloni has been leading the Argentina national team since 2018. Under his leadership, the team became world champions in 2022 and won a silver medal at the 2026 World Cup.
