US law enforcement agencies have arrested a passenger who joked about hijacking a plane during a flight.

According to the police, 25-year-old Dante Miln wrote to his colleague in a messenger during a flight from Las Vegas to Newark that he intended to “hijack this plane.” A flight attendant passing by saw the message and warned the captain of the aircraft about the danger. The captain decided to return the plane to Las Vegas.
The arrested person’s lawyer intends to claim his client’s innocence. The agency notes that in most US states, such jokes are considered an act that creates criminal liability.
