During the first half of 2026, the preliminary investigations of 64 criminal cases were completed by the prosecutor’s office, internal affairs, customs, and other investigative bodies of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and sent to the relevant courts for review.
According to information provided to “Elchi” by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, this was announced during an operational meeting held at the institution.
According to the information, 484,204 manats, or 81%, of the 599,000 manats in material damage caused to the state, legal entities, and individuals in criminal cases for which preliminary investigations were completed by the prosecutor’s office of the autonomous republic, has been ensured to be paid.
In his speech, the Prosecutor of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Sanan Pashayev, emphasized that compared to the corresponding period of last year, the number of recorded criminal incidents in the autonomous republic has decreased, and as a result of effective cooperation with internal affairs and state security agencies, the crime clearance rate has reached 96.2%.
He spoke about the importance of legal awareness, explanation of legislation, and other preventive measures that play a significant role in reducing the number of recorded crimes, and noted the necessity of taking necessary measures to further increase the quality of inquiry and investigation in both the prosecutor’s office and other law enforcement agencies.
In the speech, it was noted that citizen reception and the handling of appeals in prosecutor’s offices are kept in special focus by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kamran Aliyev, and the importance of increasing the quality of work according to the strategy determined by the Prosecutor General in this field, strengthening control over the process of reviewing appeals, and approaching citizens’ appeals with sensitivity was emphasized.
Also, at the meeting, it was once again demanded that prosecutor’s office employees strictly adhere to service, executive, and labor discipline rules, as well as the “Code of Ethical Conduct for Employees of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
Delivering a report at the meeting, the Deputy Prosecutor of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, relevant department heads, and subordinate district and city prosecutors stated that all necessary measures will be taken to increase efficiency and quality in criminal cases and investigation materials in the investigative and inquiry bodies of the prosecutor’s office and other law enforcement agencies, as well as to eliminate the shortcomings that have occurred.
