Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez has accused the United States of imposing an embargo targeting the daily lives of the Cuban people.
elchi reports that Rodriguez, stating that the US is imposing an embargo directed at the daily existence of the Cuban population, noted: “A military, nuclear, economic, and technological superpower is waging a ruthless and relentless campaign of pressure against a peace-loving people striving for peace”.
Criticizing the US stance against other member states, Rodriguez said: “The Washington administration openly violates the UN Charter and international law. This approach, aimed at seizing the sovereign will of peoples through blackmail and threats of sanctions, is a direct attack on the fundamental principles of multilateral diplomacy”.
Drawing attention to the scale of the blockade that has been ongoing for decades, Rodriguez stated: “The economic, trade, and financial embargo imposed on our country is not just a policy; it is a systematic blockade targeting the daily lives of the Cuban people and their right to development”.
Rodriguez also claimed that the US administration has distributed threatening documents to various governments and UN missions. He stated that US officials are pressuring some countries that do not want to vote against Cuba, demanding that they either “abstain” or “not enter the hall” during the vote.
