On October 21-23, the “Routes World 2026”, one of the world’s leading aviation forums for the development of international flight networks, is being held in Frankfurt, Germany. The event, organized by “Routes”, brings together airlines, airports, and tourism organizations to plan new routes and build strategic partnerships. This year’s forum is attended by representatives from over 230 airlines and more than 110 countries.
According to information provided to elchi from Heydar Aliyev International Airport, our country is jointly represented at the forum by “Azerbaijan Airlines” CJSC and the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau.
Within the framework of the event, a series of bilateral meetings were held with international carriers with the participation of the Chairman of the Management Board of “Azerbaijan Airlines” CJSC, Samir Rzayev, the Chairman of the Management Board of the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau, Florian Zengstschmid, and the management of Azerbaijan’s airports. Opportunities for opening new direct flights from Azerbaijani airports, attracting new airlines to the country, and expanding cooperation with existing partners were discussed during the negotiations.
The business meeting program includes discussions with representatives from “Lufthansa Group”, “AirAsia Group”, “Air Serbia”, “Aegean Airlines”, “Etihad Airways”, “Transavia France”, “Malaysia Airlines”, “easyJet”, “Jazeera Airways”, “Oman Air”, “Wizz Air”, and “VietJet Air”.
The joint participation of Azerbaijan’s aviation and tourism organizations in the forum is aimed at coordinating the development of the international flight network with the promotion of the country’s tourism potential. The main goal is to connect Azerbaijan with more international destinations, expand passengers’ direct flight options, and support the increase of foreign tourist flow to the country.
