Due to the weekend and the summer season, a significant increase in traffic flow is expected on the republic’s highways, especially in directions leading from the capital to regions, tourist and recreational areas, as well as seaside resort zones.
“Elchi” reports that the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a statement regarding this.
As the increase in traffic intensity raises the risk of road traffic accidents, the Main State Traffic Police Department calls on all road users to be careful and responsible.
Drivers are requested to:
* Choose their speed according to road and weather conditions;
* Get enough rest before setting out on long-distance trips and not to drive while tired or sleepy;
* Maintain a safe distance and avoid risky overtaking and other dangerous maneuvers;
* Strictly comply with the requirements of traffic management devices;
* Check the technical condition of their vehicles before starting the journey.
Citizens heading to seaside and other recreational areas, as well as pedestrians, are requested to cross the road only at designated crossings and not to use mobile phones or other distracting devices while crossing. Considering the high traffic intensity around beaches and recreational areas, both drivers and pedestrians should demonstrate mutual attention and caution.
