Azerbaijan is an important partner for Slovakia and one of the key bridges connecting Europe with the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
“Elchi” reports that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Slovakia Denisa Sakova stated this during her speech at the Azerbaijan-Slovakia business forum held in Baku.
According to her, in the modern geopolitical environment, sustainable supply chains, efficient transport corridors, and reliable energy supply have become strategic priorities:
“Azerbaijan plays an increasingly important role not only as a reliable energy partner but also as a vital logistics hub connecting regions and markets. The energy sector remains one of the main pillars of our economic cooperation. Diversification of natural gas sources and transport routes is of great importance for both Slovakia and Europe, and we highly appreciate Azerbaijan’s contribution to strengthening the energy security of our region.”
She noted that cooperation between the countries is not limited to the energy sector:
“Slovak companies are already contributing to the modernization process of Azerbaijan, and we highly value the opportunity to participate in the restoration of Karabakh. The ‘Smart Village’ project implemented in Garvand village is a clear example of how Slovak technologies and expertise can provide practical solutions that improve people’s lives. We also see great opportunities for cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, digitalization, industrial production, water management, and advanced technologies. Slovakia is a modern industrial country with strong engineering traditions, a highly qualified workforce, and growing innovation potential. Our companies offer high value-added solutions and are ready to be reliable partners in Azerbaijan’s future development.”
